Wondering what "Country Club casual" means and how to get to the departure port? Here you have some handy guidelines about the cruise:
1. Rebates
Check whether there are group discounts. Often, the organizers a free cruise for every ten or fifteen passengers. Sometimes they even provide additional benefits in form of cocktail parties or extra credit on board.
2. Dinner Routines
As a rule, dinner divided into different sittings and you will know when and with whom to eat. You may even want to order the trip to your tour operator who sees that you and all your travel companion will dine together.
3. Restaurants on board
Check if the ship has several restaurants and the booking procedures will apply. It is not always that all the restaurants included in the All Inclusive package.
4. Dress code on board
Common dress codes have English names such as. "Casual" or "leisure" (relaxed style, like shorts and t-shirt), "country club casual" (relaxed style, but not washed out t-shirts and flip-flops), "formal" (dressed, ie. Suit jacket, Shirt possibly tie) or "gala" (dressed, ie. suit jacket, tie, dress).
5. Passports and visas
Tour operator tends to help with visa applications if necessary. Are you not a Norwegian citizen, as a rule referred to your embassy.
6. Excursions
Often there are many option to choose from. Excursions may in some cases pre-booked by tour operator, but often order Mon board.
7. Reduced prices of hotel
Check whether the promoter has special offers for hotel stays before and after the cruise and if you need to pre-order the transfer to and from the boat. Are you sure you double check the prices with the hotel to make sure you actually get a reduced price.
8. Package to transfer
Most operators offer package tours that include flights to and from departure port. Such a package could be an easy solution, but double check the prices of air tickets. It is sometimes cheaper to arrange it separate.
9. Deposit on board
Cruises lasting more than seven days tend to involve a cash deposit or a copy of the credit card coverage. You receive a "cruise card" that acts as payment on board - thus avoid both you and the crew to think of contacts during the trip.
10. Fuel Taxes
Because of rising fuel prices take part in a specific shipping fee. Check the details regarding these fees with your organizer.
